Course Offerings to Insurance Adjusters

Below is a list of the Continued Education classes that we are certified by the state of Washington to teach. We do set up one class a quarter at a given time and location. We also, set up classes by request. Please email or call the Marketer or Restoration Project Manager that you are working with to request a class or the class schedule. We offer to teach classes at our two offices, Bellevue and Everett, or we will teach a class at your approved location. Each class is set up for 10 to 15 attendees. We do not require this amount of attendees for every class, but would prefer this amount of attendees as this makes for the best learning environment.  We are available year round to teach all of the classes below. Evaluating Structural Drying

In this one credit course, you will learn the basics of water damage restoration and emergency services.  Topics include the different types of equipment, determining salvageability, and common restoration techniques.  Also, see how ServiceMaster uses brand-new infrared technology to service your customers.  This class allows for some question and answer time, so you can pick our brains for tips and advice to give your customers.
 
Mold Containment & Cleanup

In this continuing education class, we will share with you some of the costly misconceptions about mold.  We also hope to convey what mold actually is, what it is not, its health effects on people, how it grows, how it spreads, and its life cycle.  In addition, you will get hands-on experience actually containing mold.
 
Fire & Water Pack Out3 Credits

Learn what a pack out is and how it pertains to the disaster restoration industry.  During this course, we will cover the details of packing, cleaning, and storing contents from a fire or water loss, and you will see how pack outs can actually save the insurance industry time and money.  Come prepared to participate in our hands-on packing and cleaning demonstration, and bring your nice jewelry for cleaning in our ultra-sonic machine!

In this class, we will help you learn what happens during a fire or smoke damage loss, and teach you tips and advice to give your clients to help them through the process by showing you the steps typically used to mitigate a fire or smoke damage.  We will demonstrate how emergency pre-cleaning can both reduce claims and help restore some of your clients’ most valuable possessions.  Come prepared to participate in our hands-on cleaning of soot and smoke damaged items, and bring your nice jewelry for cleaning in our ultra-sonic machine!
  
The Dos and Don’ts of Water Damage 2 Credits

In this exciting class, you will learn what to do and what not to do when water damage occurs.  We will teach you advice to give your clients when they call in a water loss, thus reducing claim costs.  You will also have the opportunity to observe demonstrations of some of the latest technology designed to mitigate water damage as quickly and inexpensively as possible. 
  
Ethics for the Insurance Professional 3 Credits

This class is a practical look at the ethical decision-making, instead of relying on the “gut feeling.” The process contained in this program takes the decision-maker through several filters which ensure that all parties affected by the decision will be considered. After completing this program, participants will be able to identify the reason why ethics are important, define ethics/values, describe foundational and situational ethics, identify sources of ethical framework and practice methods of decision marking.
